The centre is situated in the building known as the old Escola de Nenas (Girl's School), in the town centre of Cee. The centre was built by the Fernando Blanco de Lema Foundation, in the plot of the patron's old home.

The collection mainly comprises the scientific instrumentation and the educational material of the old professorships, labs and cabinets of the ancient High School of Cee, from late 19th century. Among the pieces, the visitor can behold meters of several magnitudes and mechanic, acoustic, optical gadgets. The animal, minerals and fossils collections are also noteworthy.

Along with these pieces, the collection includes teaching material from other subjects, incorporated to the centre throughout its history. The collection also houses the centre's historical and educational documents and the artistic and pictorial funds of the foundation, standing out the work of Federico Madrazo, the etchings of the National Chalcography and a collection of religious craftsmanship in precious metals.
